A Different Kind of Conversation

The first session
isn't about
fixing everything.

It's about being heard — without judgment. Your therapist takes time to understand you: your experiences, what concerns you, and what brings you here. Gently and without pressure, she'll walk you through how the process works, while building a foundation of genuine trust and empathy.

If you're wondering whether therapy is even right for you — that itself is a good place to start. With the challenges of today's life, many people feel more insecure and vulnerable than they've ever admitted. Therapy offers something rare: a space to express, reflect, and understand yourself in a healthier, more meaningful way.

Begin Your Journey

Therapy is a collaborative and client-centred process. The goal is to help you develop insight and make decisions aligned with your own values — not someone else's answers.

The Process

Therapy isn't linear.
But it does have
a beginning.

The First Conversation

No pressure to have all the answers. The first session is about understanding you — your story, your concerns, what feels unmanageable, and what you're hoping for. A conversation, not an evaluation.

Your Tailored Path

Short-term therapy may span a few weeks to address specific concerns. Longer-term work — unfolding over months — supports deeper emotional and behavioural change. The pace is always yours to set.

Collaborative Growth

Therapy is a partnership. Dr. Sheikh may offer perspectives and tools, but the goal is always to help you develop your own insight and make decisions rooted in your values — not someone else's answers.

"Therapy offers a space to express, reflect, and understand yourself in a healthier, more meaningful way."

Academic Work

Grounding practice
in evidence.

Dr. Sheikh's clinical work is informed by an active commitment to research and publication. She developed and validated the Indian Mindfulness Inventory — a culturally adapted psychometric tool for measuring mindfulness in Indian populations (IJAIR, 2019).

Her published research spans mindfulness-based relapse prevention, caregiver wellbeing in schizophrenia, peer support in severe mental illness, and clinical hypnosis — contributing to leading national and international psychiatric journals.
